structure and texture of native plants to amazing effect. A traditional flower border and

herbs, pond and shaded stream and an extensive vegetable garden developed around

historic farm buildings. This is a tranquil setting on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

A short drive to .Hinewai., a private native reserve developed by the Maurice White

Trust and managed by Hugh Wilson, a botanist of renown. A Valley Track stroll to

Wairuru Falls, approx 40 minutes. An option for keen walkers is to set off at the summit

of Hinewai reserve to walk downhill to Akaroa - takes approximately one hour.
