Over 40 copper pieces, too numerous to individualize, yet each a masterful joining of the metal to the mind, of craft to the art.

Waitangi Day Celebrations |

Waitangi Day, a great family fun day out in Okains Bay to commemorate Waitangi Day. A traditional Maori welcome onto Marae at 10 am. Two magnificent carved waka being paddled up the river. Colonial displays, exhibits, crafts, musket shooting, cross-cut sawing, vintage engines, steam engine, printing presses, children’s games, races, tug-o-war, traditional hangi lunch, sausage sizzle, refreshments, music and a garden bar.

The art auction which will be held at the Gaiety Theatre, Akaroa, on the evening of Saturday, 7 February. The evening will not only celebrate the art of Banks Peninsula, but its food, wine and music.
